On the road with the experts

I created an embedded coverage for the Yellow Pages Seminar Series that took us across the country in the fall.
Entitled Harness the Power of Online Marketing, the Fall 2011 Yellow Pages Group Seminar Series gave small business owners a clear understanding of how today’s savvy consumers can be reached and converted into loyal customers, using websites, SEM/SEO, mobile and social networks.
Partnering with the marcom team at YPG, I ran a bilingual coverage of the seminars in Ottawa, Halifax, Winnipeg and Edmonton. In each city, I recruited a seasoned writer to collect lively interviews with participants, along with photography. Their fresh content helped boost attendance while underlining a key competitive advantage for YPG: its face-to-face sales force, working everyday on the ground across the country.
Now in their second season, these seminars have been very popular everywhere, even by free-tickets standards. Local advertisers love to hear advice on their marketing concerns at a time when they feel both overwhelmed and underserved in an ever-evolving, complex and fragmented marketplace.
Expert speakers included Tracy Smith (VP, performance marketing & go-to-market), Sean Ballard (Director, performance marketing products), Matthieu Houle (Director, mobile & platforms) and Bill Barnes (VP, business development at YPG’s sister company Mediative).
